The industry’s leading women recognised at inaugural retail media awards

Five trophies were presented to some of the industry’s leading women during an evening of celebration, laughter, and community at the inaugural Women in Retail Media Awards.

Hosted by Stonegate Group aboard its Tattershall Castle boat pub in London, and presented by Epsilon, awards were handed out for Ally of the Year, Creative Excellence, Tech & Data Pioneer, Rising Star, and Trailblazer of the Year.

“This whole process has left me in awe of the incredible women in our industry. The support that Women give each other – and allies – is incredible, unbiased and unconditional,” said Ellie Prendergast, Founder of Women in Retail Media and Retail Media Client and Operations Lead at Co-op Media Network. “From having the guts to self-nominate, to promoting would-be “competitors,” to being in a room filled with people so proud of each other – you could feel the peer support in every stage. These women have achieved exceptional things in their career; it was a pleasure to get to know them and shine a spotlight on them – I already can’t wait for next year.”

Ally of the Year was awarded to Louise Khan, Client Planning Director – Argos at Nectar360, in category also featuring Mindshare’s Julie Bolsom and SMG’s Tara Hekmat.

The second award of the evening, for Creative Excellence, went to Ocado Retail’s SFC Lead Char Eeles, ahead of B&Q’s Abigail Hammond and Very Media Group’s Rosie Woods.

Next up was Tech & Data Pioneer, which was won by Claire Trbovic, Group Business Director at SMG. She was in a category with SMG’s Barabara Rodrigues and OMD’s Ieva Butenaite.

The penultimate award, for Rising Star, was claimed by Sofiia Kuchumova, Digital Activation Executive at Mars. Runners up in the category were Isobel MacDougall of EssenceMediacom and Sophie Valentine from Nectar360.

The ceremony ended with the Trailblazer of the Year Award, with the final gong going to Nectar360’s Director of Digital Media Alice Anson, who was shortlisted alongside Wolt’s Catalina Salazar and Deliveroo Media’s Orlagh Newman.

Women in Retail Media also partnered with EMEVE for the event, a social club that supports a trio of women’s charities: Bloody Good Period, Refuge, and Rights of Women.

Sponsors included Nectar360, Rokt, Mirakl Ads, Zitcha, Kevel, Stratacache, Grey Matter Recruitment, and LiveRamp.
